Good old fashioned service at Bunny's Bolts (UK dealer)

I've had loads of stuff sent from the Uk with no damage at all [no rails though].

Only ever used Axminster who simply can't be beat for service and Powertoolworld who can't be beat for price.Either can easily compete with French outfits both on price and service.

You guys are 2mins down the road and you've got rails bent ,systainers smashed and saws upended.What is going on?

I had my TS55 delivered by FedEx ( about a week after the incident with the flat screen tv that was unceremoniously launched into someone's front garden).
I say delivered, he threw it over a 6'6" gate onto the concrete.
Systainer was cracked, all the contents jumbled up. When I started the saw up it didn't sound to good.
This was about 2 pm on a Friday.
Axminster, the company I bought it from had a brand new replacement on my door step Saturday morning without hesitation or  wanting to collect the damaged saw first. Now that's what gets you repeat orders.
Incidentally they didn't use the same couriers  [big grin]

The underlying theme here is that a dealers quality of service seem inextricably linked to the courier company they use.

They use a few different couriers. DPD are good as they text you the delivery hour as mentioned before.
Maybe it depends on where you live in the country as to who they use.
I had a welder delivered from up north by FedEx.  It look like it had been dragged all the way to my house!!

I called both of the above before I ordered from Bunnys Bolts. Axminster don't even list the parallel guides on their site. They just offer the faster moving Festool items. I have dealt with them on other stuff and I do really rate them though as a company but that's no use if they don't sell what you want.

I also called PowertoolWorld. They look to give good discounts but it's pointless if they don't keep anything in stock and it takes two weeks for something to arrive. I've also got a sneaking suspicion that they perhaps don't have quite as warm a relationship with Festool as some of the other dealers. That ultimately could be bad for us end users if they need to lean on Festool to resolve problems.

I received a delivery today from Bunny's Bolts. It was a sturdy plank of wood. They were kind enough to attach a 1900 rail to it! Laura rang on Tuesday to say the replacement had arrived from Germany which is not bad at 3-4 business days. I chose to have it delivered today as I knew where I would be. So all's well that ends well and I would definitely use Bunny's Bolts again.

Going off at a tangent I couldn't help thinking of the systainer stacking thread, i.e whose got the tallest stack of T-Locs. Would it be childish to start one about connected guide rails? I have two sets of joining bars and and an 800, 1400 and 1900 rail so I can make a 4100 straight edge. I know I will be trumped straight away and remember a picture somewhere from that Scandinavian guy who had a lot of rails connected down the edge of a bar he was building. I bet JMB could go halfway up the M1!

+1 for powertoolworld.

I have used them with no problems whatsoever. When I ordered the 10 toolies for FOGgers in NA I think I used powertoolworld. They got the stock from Germany very fast and mailed it to me.

I'd also recommend toucan tools and toolsave in the UK.

lol    Well im afraid ill have to let you down with the halfway up the M1  [unsure]      When I got my work shop ill be buying a few more rails  Cus I want a complete set for my TS75  and then a Set for my TS55   cus my TS75 cuts the rubber short which then makes the rail useless for the TS55.

I got a total of   10180    straight edge at the moment.

Well if I can only count the Fs 2 model rails I've only got 9 metres 20. BUT if I can add in the old style ones I'll be looking back at JMB from over the  15 metre mark.  [tongue]
Funny thing is I've been trying to think of a use for the old style rails that I never use. Any ideas anyone?
