Good Source for Quality Band Saw Blades

Whattarya gonna do with the blade?  Curves? Resawing? More a combo?  Sorry to send that back to you...

I use mine almost exclusively for resawing or straight cuts.  For that, I have a Laguna Resaw King blade.  Basically it's a band with table-saw teeth brazed onto the band.  They can be resharpened.  The surface off the saw is like you just sanded it to P80.

But not cheap.  But then if you wanted cheap you wouldn't be here with the rest of us ;)
 
+1 on the Resaw King -- very, very smooth cuts.  Lenox also makes good blades -- maybe a little cheaper, but anything that is carbide tipped is going to cost some money -- figure 1.25 - 1.80 per inch.  I actually buy my other blades from Laguna too -- since I happen to live 20 miles from their showroom it is easy to pick stuff up in person.  Suffolk makes good all around blades too and Highland Hardware.

The best I have used are the WoodSlicer blades from Highland Hardware in Atlanta.  They don't last as long as the carbide models, but perform great.

Mainly combo and resawing, so I'll take a look at the Laguna REsaw King Blade.

My bandsaw just arrived and I'm like a kid at Christmas.
 
Another vote here for the Resaw King for straight cuts.  I have a few of them so one is always ready if the others are out for sharpening.  Put the widest one on that will fit your saw for straight line cuts.  For other applications, you'll have to look at what you are cutting and then select the right blade for the application, the tighter the turns, the narrower the blade.

Well i'm kind of envious. Congratulations - I ordered one from Felder - they even cashed my deposit cheque before they decide that they could not sell me one - I wanted a 220 volt single phase and the machine they had lined up was a 60hz US model.  I have just confirmed my order today for an Agazzani 600 -very similar - just more more expensive.

You need more than a brand recommendation.  The correct tooth and band geometry can have as much to do with blade performace as brand.  I use John at www.woodcraftbands.com for bimetal and John Iturra (no website, old school paper catalog and a telephone.....http://www.businessmarketinginstitute.com/tmn/iturra.pdf is a scan of an old catalog) for my resaw blades.  These two guys are encyclopedias (encyclopediae?) of bandsaws and blades and I recommend them without reservation.  Tell them what you want to do and they will lead you to the best match.

I got some blades from a specialty blade/cutlery company Atlanta Sharptech few years ago which were very thin kerf stainless steel.  They were intended for meat but made the smoothest resaw cuts I've ever made with a bandsaw.  They didn't last very long but while they were sharp they were very good.
