Grease leakage from Kapex - should I be concerned?

I brought out my Kapex for the first time in a month or so today. It's been sitting in the transport position on the UG-stand and when I moved it, there was about a table spoon of oil (probably grease that has melted) on the floor. Visual inspection seems to indicate that the fluid originated from the ventilation opening on the back of the motor housing.

Is this normal? Should I be concerned?

This has been reported by other forum members a few times. There is no reason for concern and this should not affect the saw adversely. Certain environmental conditions, as well as storing the saw in a vertical orientation, can cause there to be some separation of the oil from the grease.

If you believe there is an issue with the operation of your saw, I would encourage you to contact your local Festool offices for assistance.

Thanks Shane!

I guess my search skills failed me this time. I might give the local Festool folks a call here in Sweden. My Kapex is coming up on it's 3 year anniversary so it might be a good idea to service it before then, just in case.
