I am not sure if this is the right place to post this but I wanted to give a BIG thanks to Allen & Zack from Festool and Dan & team over at Jackson Hardware for hosting a great day. It was an action packed agenda that covered most of the tools in Festool's arsenal. Allen (who lead the session) is extremely knowledgeable and shared a bunch of best practices with everyone. He clearly enjoys what he does and there was quite a few 'light bulb' moments...........oh, that's how you do that! Great stuff.

Anyway, I was fortunate to make it out of there with minimal damage, MFT3, but I am pretty sure I will be adding MFK700 and OF1400 shortly after seeing them in action today. :- ) If you any of you guys are ever in the Bay Area check out Jackson Hardware. I was there for the first time today and the place is worth a visit! It's a bit out of the way for me but I am sure I'll back there soon.

I think the guys who attended probably took away different things from the session but I was personally interested in learning about proper set up/use of the Domino (which I recently picked up) and set up/use of the 1400 and MFK700 routers (which I don't own yet). These tools come with a ton of different parts and/or accessories so it was great to see the various applications in use. One bit of consistent feedback was frustration with Festool's instruction manuals so for a Domino or Festool router newbie like me it was a great introduction. It sounded like Festool is aware of this and working on it's Festool Channel and other tools to help users in the US.
