Hi All,

Thinking about getting the Grizzly G0528 Router table with sliding table.  You can check it out here if you want more info on it:http://www.ebay.com/itm/G0528-Router-Table-Brand-New-w-warranty-/271132699058?pt=Routers_Bits&hash=item3f20c4a9b2

Has anyone had any experience, positive or negative with it?

Appreciate any information you have.

Thanks,

Bill

I got one. I had it for abut 5 or 6 years. I bought it at a wood show. Its a solid RT. However I didnt care for the fence. The fence had a lot of flex in it and it didnt adj very well. So I ended up making my own fence. Up side

its very stable, little or no vibration, can mount any router to it. I use the PC 7518. its a good size table and you can do just about anything you want a router table to do with it.

You can use the fence on either side of the bit/ top menaning when you have a small piece to router you can turn the fence around away from the sliding table and use the small area of cast iron to route with maybe 6" deep. Comes in handy .

Down side:

Its heavy hard to move around, not to mobile. Ive been thinking of building a cabinet / table for it to sit on.

Takes up a lot of room in the shop

Because the fence mounts to threaded hole s in the cast iron top you have limited fence travel .

Hard to adjust the router height and changing bits. I had to buy a bent wrench to make it easier to change bits. Yes I also tried the extensions.

You cant use things like a router left with it. But a magnetic grip type of feather board works great with it.

The fence that sits on the table for use with the sliding and the vertical table fence can be tedious to adjust and get perfectly aligned to 90. I  have however made complete kitchen doors using it with good results.

My recommendation

Over all its not a bad router table, the sliding table does come in handy and since you can use any router with it thats pretty kewl. You can do a lot with it, but remember it takes up a lot of room.

Since I started going over to the blue and green side and thinking lighter and mobile Ive been considering selling it along with some other tools as Im am going to down size to a smaller shop.

I still might keep it and build a table for the top to set on something that will make it easier to move around the shop and takes up less room then the splayed leg stand that comes with it. I would make the total height 900mm so I can utilize it with my MFT.

Ive also been considering just buying/ making another router tabletop that I can set in between my 2 MFTs when needed and will store against the wall etc when not needed.

Anyway these are my thoughts about it.
