Hi all,
I'm a newbie and this is my first post here.
Looks like a great forum and I look forward to learning lots!

My first question (after searching and not finding an answer!) is:

Do you have a dimension for the guide rail centres and rod diameters?
Before I buy one (here in UK), I need to know whether I can use it on an existing router (not Festool - YET!) and maybe adapt or make an adapter.....

Many thanks,

Cheers,
Jon

Welcome Jon!

The 492601 adapter is for the OF 1400 and uses 8mm bars on a 79mm centre.

The OF 2200 adapter (494681) uses 10mm bars on a 110mm centre, and the OF 1010 adapter (488752) uses 8mm bars on a 107mm centre.

None of them come with the bars, and the OF 2200 also includes a router base.

Makita also make a guide rail adapter for their rails that also fits Festool rails (Makita 194579-2 Router Guide Rail Adapter) and that may be more appropriate depending on your router. I don't know what size bars and centres for that one though.

Garry,
Many thanks for the ultra rapid response!

I am planning on a Festool router - after I've recovered from the 'joy' of buying a TS55 with guide rails - what a lovely tool!
For the moment I can't just throw my perfectly 'good' Bosch router away but would like to see if I can use my ingenuity to use both...

Thanks again,
Jon
