Is there an attachment to allow a jigsaw to be run along the standard guide rail or do most just butt it up against the rail free hand?

There is an attachment. I've used it. I like it. Oddly, I don't find it on any of the usual suspect web sites.

It works on the opposite side of the rail from the circular saw, so don't let that confuse you when you try to set it up. It's a rectangular piece of plastic with a rectangular cut out, you snap the saw into that cut-out,l put the recess in the other part of the plastic over the rail, make your cut.

Yep, Jim, that's the thing I've got. Simple, straightforward, has worked so far for me.

Even works in both directions, IFRC.

Thanks Corwin, I was just about to run down cellar (shop) to check as I did not recall using the Trion on the backside.  I've only used it with the guide bar a couple of times last winter and thought I had used it on same side as my ATF.

Works good I use it to cut metal with my jig saw now and then.  Just wish the adjustors to the rail where like on the ts55 big thum screws.  Make sure you adjust it the screws are kind of hidden.  Personally I think it is a bit cheap but does work fine.
