I was in Woodcraft on Sunday picking up a Dust Deputy systainer kit (works really well by the way) and while I was standing by the Festool display, there was a contractor trying to figure out which CT and sander to buy. He had a solid surface to sand and wondered what to do. I started in on the benefits of the CT and sander working together as a system, how much cleaner his worksite is going to be and how the customer will be really impressed by how little dust is left behind. I had to laugh as the sales guy, who was pretty new, was telling the guy he remembered my buying my CT and sanders even though I bought them at least 5 years ago. I knew more about the tools than he did, not surprising, and I showed the guy how to remove the pad from the Rotex and a few other things. By the time we were finished, 30 minutes went by and he was walking out about with about $1500 worth of tools and accessories. ;D I went to their office and told the manager, a friend of mine, how I helped close a nice Festool sale and that he owed me a discount on my next non-Festool purchase. He gave me a knowing smile and I went on my way knowing I just helped another guy trying to make a living be just that more efficient. Seems almost everytime I'm in Woodcraft, the same thing happens. They should hire me as their local Festool sales guy.
