Made my first wooden hammer (mallet).
Simple traditional 2-piece construction: handle slides through the top into a mortise that’s tapered to accept it. Comes back apart for easier storage (in my hand tools systainer).
Weight is about 380g
Spalted red beech head and walnut handle, camelia oil and beeswax finish.
Greetings,
wpz
tools used:
CS50 table saw, hand plane, marking knife, square, chisel, old wooden mallet (that is falling apart, hence making a new one), spokeshave, ETS EC 150/3 sander + CT MIDI vacuum
