There is nothing smoother than a Japanese wooden Spokeshave for fine tweaking a profile leaving a perfect finish.  I love my hand tools as much as my power tools and my machinery gives me the backbone to get wood into the starting shape to begin work.  I would love to sell my 24" Leigh Dovetail jig with a vast assortment of carbide cutters since the instruction book put me to sleep and I went back to my handsaws and chisels.

Jacko...

I could give your Leigh manual a home! A pipe burst in my garage, and drenched my planer, and the bookshelf above it. Hence no Leigh manual any more!  ;D

John,

Since I started this post I upgraded my Leigh jig and have added the dust attachment.  The newer additions came with an upgraded manual.

You can download a copy of the manual at their website.

Thanks Jack.

Hmm! When  I can sort out what I need from the extensive list! Wow!

My jig was bought in the 1990s, and has been upgraded with new index scales, and clamping levers. I do know how to operate the jig, but it's been a couple of years since I was able to use it; just need a refresher I guess!

I might have difficulty sorting out which manual is applicable though, so I'll contact Leigh, and find out!
Thanks again for the information.

Regards

John,

I too have been upgrading my Leigh since I purchased the D1258R with all of the upgrades but, the best upgrade has been their VSR 24 dust collection attachment that really works quite fine with my Festool CT22 with the 36mm hose.
