Well, this was the day I've been waiting for (based on rumors).

With todays release of OS X Lion and the new MacBook Airs, I finally get to update from my 6+ year old PowerBook G4 notebook. Definitely got my money's worth out of that old box.

Got an 11" MacBook Air upgraded to 256 GB flash drive on order. Now I'll be able to run the latest sketchup for furniture design.

The boys will inherit my old PB as their "sync" computer for the iPads, and that means I have a 2005 (or 04?) eMac that needs a new home. Any ideas
on what to do with it? Still works but becomes VERY slow at times.

Backup server?

Personal web server?

Install Hercules on it and use it as your own personal mainframe?

Donate it to someone without even that?

Just got an iPad 2 as well and I must admit that I'm using it a lot more than I thought I would. I have a 5-year old MacBook Pro which still runs very well and now I mainly use that for editing photos and SketchUp. The iPad seems to be able to cover the rest and the fact that it's so handy and readily available is a big plus.

I'm very happy with my iDevices. I use my iPad 2 almost all of the time...I recently changed my unlimited phone data plan so that I can tether while @ work & on the go. I switched over to Mac products about 4 years ago and I really enjoy the whole ecosystem. I'm certainly excited for the next OS in the fall...I always look forward to improvements every year!

Just got my iPad 2. Might just be the start of something. Lovely bit of kit   ;D

Well, well, well.

Use it and play with it.  If you ever get tense reading something on the FOG, go get this app at the App Store  :  Gravitarium    There is a free version and a deluxe version.  Just spring for the deluxe version.  Put in your earbuds or a headphone and instead of counting to ten, just play.

Might not filter all the tenseness but it helps.

Zen.
