Wishing to all those fathers out there a very Happy Father's Day. And to those future fathers out there, enjoy, savor and treasure every day with your child/children - as you will ask later come to realize - and ask yourself, "where did the time go?"

We are waiting for our daugher to arrive.  She was supposed to leave D.C. yesterday, but had business problems. She is in realestate and handles her contracting problems by herself.  She got her start by visiting customers with her "Old Man" from the time she was barely able to walk.  Our son usually calls to take me out to breakfest on Father's Day.  He called this morning.  It seems he (one of his waterline crews) ran into a main power line yesterday while digging around a main water line for a shopping center. He is still on site straightening out the problems. He got his start by trying to run his "Old Man's" back hoes as soon as he could walk.  I guess I have no body to blame but myself...

NOTE:  I would not have done it any other way. I have always been glad that I was able to allow my kids to visit, and assist, with my work.  Some people would comment, "aren't you rushing things a little?"  My comment would be something like, "I tell you what.  Why don't you tell him/her to quit."  The time is still flying.

Happy Father's Day guys. First one for me and I wouldn't trade it for anything.

First Father's Day without my Dad- he passed away in February this year.  He taught us a lot of lessons going up- to love God and the benefits of hard work, and especially working with your hands.  Had a lot of camping and fishing trips as well- the attached pic is from a long time ago- he caught a nice walleye and I caught my first northern pike.  I know he's in a much better place now- he's probably arguing with St Peter about old fish stories.  Miss him a lot.  If your Dad is still around, make sure you give him a good hug today.

Happy Father's Day to All!

Regards,
Gerald
