Has the Syslite Duo been discontinued?

It’s not on the website any more and some retailers no longer list it.

Any time "has X been discontinued?" comes up, the first question I usually ask is "was X still being sold in a T-LOC Systainer until recently?"  If so, then the typical answer is "they're probably moving it to a SYS3".

That said, if they were to add a power switch to the Syslite DUO and re-release it, that change probably wouldn't upset too many buyers.

The Syslite Duo was already migrated to a Sys3, so this might mean an actual discontinuance. Hopefully they come out with a new version rather than kill it off altogether. It's definitely one of my favorite things they've made!

Not gonna lie, I bought one because I'm a hoarder, and thought it was more than I would ever need for anything and/or just overkill.  But the times I used it to paint a room, it was invaluable in ensuring good, even coverage; especially when painting light blue over pepto-pink and for getting the second coat on and hand cut-in work done.

I've used it for more pedestrian things such as providing outdoor general purpose lighting, too, but that painting project was so much nicer with the DUO.

I definitely love my DUO; has come in handy more times than I imagined. Especially doing things outside in winter in Arizona... the only time you won't get critically burned by the sun, but then it sets at, like, 4 pm

The tripod for it is also really useful though I use it most for the inspection light to get it at the right place for sanding with the Vac-Sys. Crazy productive combination.

I have thought of finding an exploded diagram of the DUO to retrofit a power switch. Seems so basic.

That would be really sad if it is discontinued. I bought one and was floored by how great it was that I bought a second one.

You can add working in a crawlspace and attic to the list of jobs that are 50 times easier when having a pair of these lights. Suddenly working in the dark becomes a thing of the past.

It’s all the small things that are incorporated into this light, like the nail/screw hook, angled base, positive detent mount when on the tripod, and many more make it one of my favorite “under the radar” festool tools. But the real reason is the great light output and even dispersion over a large area.

Let’s hope this is just gone for a refresh.

I  bought one and loved it enough to buy another one.  Most jobs I get by with one but many times need the second one.  I have had many customers comment, "You can leave that light here if you want to."  This commentary often comes up when I unplug it upon finishing the job.  Needless to say, I have not left it...

The Duo is fantastic, could use switch but I don’t find unplugging a struggle. I have the inspection light also.  Originally made a base to put on my builders tripod but later got the stand.  It was a pain when I needed both so got a second stand from Hartville’s EBay shop by making a lowball offer.

May be getting replaced by the new cordless KBS C with dimmer switch, although even at 5,000 lumens, it doesn't have the same throw pattern that the Duo had.

I hope that's not its replacement. Love the features of the KBS C but it's just different having a non-cordless light that can be left on all day.
