I'll be in London a couple days in July and would like to pick up a CMS-TS 75 while I'm in town.  We'll be staying at a hotel in Westminister and won't have a car, but I can take a cab or the tube.  Any recommendations for dealers?

Thanks!!

John

I would suggest you buy one online and arrange to have it delivered to your hotel during your stay shop around for a good price. its an item that may not be in stock at a lot of dealers.

a dealer like slingers 1858 would be a good starting point.

I did what you are planning & you can benefit from my mistakes. Most dealers do not stock the module & order it from Germany, takes about 5 days. They then will ship or you can pick up. That's the first issue. To place your order, you must first pay for it, but you will have to have a local cc. Slinger1858 was a pleasure to deal with. I was lucky that my daughter lives in London. She made the purchase & it was shipped to her address (no charge). You may also wish to order a stopper (separate rip fence, which I did). If you have the CMS-GE, then you want Stopper LA-CS 50/cms #492095, it you have the CMS-VL, then you want Stopper CS-70 LA # 488062.  The part # for the CMS-TS 75 is 493360. Good luck.

Festtoolfootstool & dsweetser,

Thanks for the insights!!!  I'll definitely order one in advance, I had a friend try to pick one up for me while he was in Belgium a while back and the dealer he found only had an open box unit available, and there was no way to know if all the parts were included so I had him not buy it.

I have the CMS-GE with the router table and all the bells and whistles for it that are available here.  I'll order the Stopper LA-CS 50/cms #492095 as well.  I didn't even know to look for that piece.

I like the idea of having one delivered to the hotel.  That would make my wife happier than spending our first day of vacation looking at woodworking tools :-)

John,

The stopper is an acc that you may not need, but want. The CMS-TS 75 kit comes with the same miter gauge the the router kit has that can be used as a rip fence, but it's not that long. The stopper is more like the traditional rip fence on US table saws. I suggest you get it.

There is also the issue of the VAT TAX.  As a visitor you can get that back at the airport when you leave after jumping through some hoops. Ask who ever you purchase the item from to register you for the VAT TAX refund. Then show the paper work and items purchased at the airport for the refund. Good luck
