Help with allround abrasives lineup

Hi, what lineup of allround abrasives would you recommend?
I will be sanding mainly wood and between coats with ETS EC 150/5

Should I go for Granat all the way or something like this?
      -60  Saphir
80-100 Granat
120-    Abranet/Granat Net

I use Granat exclusively these days on all three of my sanders (ETS EC 125, Rotex 125 and DTS.)  I have Granat abrasives from P80 up P500 and find these cover everything I need.  Plus it is simple because no need to worry about the differences in style.  Need smoother, go to a higher grit.  Need to remove more material, go to a lower grit.

I find that Granat lasts a long time.  Maybe all Festool abrasives last a long time.  I would not know since I am all Granat all the time.

I definitely see the advantages of going all Granat..
But some say the Granat Net/Abranet is the "future of sanding" and even better as an allround abrasive than Granat??  [unsure]
Anyone who has experience?

Most of those people are the ones selling the more expensive mesh abrasive ; and they're looking for a competitive edge to sell their product.

Now, mesh may be the future but it's going to be awhile before we find out.

I tried abranet about 2 years ago on my festool ETS, and use only abranet since then  [smile]
Dust collection is perfect, and the abrasive last much longer than conventional abrasives.

However the rotex (in forced rotation mode) seems to be too rough with abanet mesh (tear off).

the use of a pad interface is mandatory with abranet (due to wear of the velcro).

I used Abranet HD on my garden shed. Definitely lasted longer than the Granat. Although Saphir might have been a wiser choice for the task.
Since I could not get Saphir, I went the the Abranet HD. Am quite happy with the performance.

Mirka do some very light interface pads, which I would recommend using, to minimize wear on the sanding pad itself...

Really it comes down to application. Net will cut faster and have better extraction of fine dust such as dry wall. Paper backed will have a finer cut and you have more control of the finish.
