I am thinking about getting the longer 36mm hose.  I am seeing two different part numbers.  Can anyone help me understand the difference?  Is one a replacement for the other ?  They are from different sources and are listed at the same price ($250).

Festool Antistatic Hose w/ Sleeve 1-7/16" x 21' (36mm x7m) (204926)

Festool 500685 Suction Hose D 36x7, 0M-As/Ct

Thanks folks.

Could be Festool changing part numbers. I don’t see a difference either. You could confirm with the dealers if either has the new rubber end that locks onto the tool - I didn’t see it in the pictures of either, though.

I had the same question with short hose.

The new one has a RFID chip in it.

Which one did you find to be the new one, the one starting with a 2 or the 5 ?

Edit: just looked at a couple of places.  I would bet the 204924 is the latest.  The only places that show the 500681 are Amazon and Highland Hardware.  festoolproducts.com is down for maintenance right now.

I checked toolnut/festoolproducts when you posted this and they had the 204926 but not the 500681. Festoolusa.com also has a listing for 204926 but not 500681, so I'd guess that 204926 is the current item.

Guess that settles it, thank you.

I believe that 204926 is the new version: AS/CTR - “R” designation as in RFID chip on DC connector side.
It should also have the new tool end connector with internal bayonet connector, as opposed to just smooth internal.

Mine is a 5 meter version which is part number 500864. It has the bayonet tool hose end. The ends do NOT plug into themselves for storage or putting two hoses end to end together like I had hoped in order to have 10 meters of hose, plus another 3 meters of 27mm hose.

I would like to know what the difference is between them. If there is a different end on the vac side to allow the 36mm end to plug into the back of the vac side, I would like to know that part number??
