Does anyone own a CMS OF that can help me with ordering a part. I bought it second hand and its missing the M6 Star screw that hold the fence down to the table. The exploded view of the parts on the EKAT site is not very good and its hard to tell which star knob M6 screw I need and if I need a spacer also. I called Festool to order and they wouldn't help me with which part to order. They said its policy to not help because if they help and the wrong part is ordered they don't want to be responsible. Pretty good customer service. I went ahead and ordered what looked most correct (M6 x 95) and its too short. I assume its the M6 x 111 with a spacer but I'm not sure. They are about $26 a piece so I thought I ask here is anyone knows for sure.

Thank You,

Marc

Are these the parts you're referring to?

Yes that's exactly what I need. I'm also interested in information about that micro adjust.

Thank you

The M6 bolts on mine are 95mm with a 23mm plastic spacer, a steel washer (1.5mm) and a small o-ring for retention in the fence assembly.

Yeah it doesn't matter if they are a bit too long, it just means you have more work screwing them in. The one with the spacer needs to be longer to have to knob be clear of the nearby obstruction.

Definitely two different sizes.

Seems pricey for a knob and some threaded rod.

Does festool plan to reintroduce a complaint CMS? I just found out it’s a canceled product 😕

Anyone have suggestions on how to do cope and stick doors with festool products that are available?

CMS can still be bought in parts.

I don't see how they  could make it compliant.

As per Coen comment.

The whole notion of "using handheld type tools in an under-table stationery setup" was made non-workable in the EU in 2022.

"The problem":
1) To use a stationary setup safely, one absolutely requires an easily accessible safety switch. This is also a legal requirement for such tools in the EU.
2) (All ?) Handheld power tools are now legally required to have a power switch that is either non-lockable or is locable but of an NVR type.

2) makes 1) impossible to function.

Even if Festool, in theory, continues on the CMS path, there are no handheld power tools sold new in the EU without an NVR switch but a lockable power switch. They would have to direct theri new-purchase customers to the used market. As big a no-go as it gets.

The NA crowd is just collateral here. The bread and butter of the CMS system was the space-compressed european market with (very) small shops being prevalent.
