So I took my bag out because it was full. I didn't put a new one in.  I was planning on replacing it tomorrow before work.  My wife decided to use it to clean the entire house with no bag in place.  My question is has any one had any luck blowing it clean.  I don't want to buy a $60 filter.

Sure you can clean the filter but sort of depends on what was sucked up in the vac whether or not there is damage to the filter.  All that debris pummeling the filter can ruin a HEPA filter is short order.

Lots of fine dust.  I am thinking time to buy new and just be happy my wife likes to use it.

Well, if it was mostly fine dust you'll probably be able to just clean the filter.  If it had been construction debris you'd likely be out of luck.  Use low pressure air from the backside of the filter to clean it.

Very, VERY, VERY low pressure. Otherwise, you may damage the filter element.

Best practice is to tap it out and "strum" the folds on the filter to loosen debris.

Thanks, I did a compination of both.  So far it works.  I am using it Tuesday.  I will know for sure.  May just get a new filter to be sure.
