After a few days of cutting a roof in the rain (Seattle...) the track isn't retracting smoothly after a cut. The spring loaded clip on the track is functioning properly. I cleaned the tool thoroughly everyday with a blow tip.

The problem actually seems to be the resistance of the blade guard against the track is holding the track back.

I was thinking about lubricating the point where the guard contacts the track. I'm wondering what the appropriate lubricant would be?

I don't see an obvious adjustment for track retractor tension or blade gaurd tension.

I have had some success in overcoming this 'stickiness' by using a sliding door silicone spray over the whole rail.  Have to say though that my 250mm rail was the problem, rather than the 420mm.

The other thing to do is obviously investigate the guide rail adjustment beneath the saw platter.

I wax the track and the bottom of the saw with a wax. Specifically, Insulator wax but any paste wax should work. Not only does it help to keep it sliding smoothly, it also helps the tools clean by resisting adhesion of things like glue or paint. Use a nice clean cotton cloth to wax it. Then, keep the rag in a clean plastic bag stored in the saw's systainer. Wipe the track down before and after you use it and the residual wax on the rag from the initial waxing will help keep the surface freshened up.
