A quick question. I've just bought myself an HL850E-Plus planer complete with new T-Loc systainer. Are the HL850E planers in these new T-Loc systainers identical to the HL850E planers in the old systainers?

All my other systainers are of the older type. I was thinking of trading the T-Loc systainer for an older model as long as my new planer would fit properly in the older model. Barring that possibility, what model of older systainer could I buy that would properly fit my new planer with included insert?

Thanks
Dave

As far as I know yes they are the same.

Mine came in a systainer 3  so you would need a systainer 3 or larger.    I dont know how it fits in the T-loc but in the systainer it sits flat but on a angle corner to corner if it had plug it lead it would be able to go straight the lead just makes it a little to long for a systainer width.

Its a shame really cus I have the mounting bracket for the planer for when you use it like a surface planer well if it had a plug it lead you would be able to leave it on the bracket and it would fit straight into the systainer still all attached because you cant put it on a angle while on the bracket.  If you got a larger systainer you could have it on a tilt like the TS75 is but then your carrying a large systainer just because it aint got a plugin lead kindda annoying!   I have been lookin at adapting mine so I could remove the lead.

Dave, yes, the HL 850 is the same regardless of the Systainer type.

Thanks Shane. Then for anyone interested in the Toronto area, I'd like to trade my new HL850 systainer for the older type.

I would swap out one of my old style sys. for a new T lock in a heart beat [big grin].  What would shipping cost from MPLS, MN to you?  If interested let me know.  [thumbs up]

Cheers,
Steve
