There are two types of hose adapters on TS/HK saws.
[attachimg=1]
The old one is 10015824 (for some reason 8 digit part number). The new "improved" one is 202096.
I ordered the old one from Hartville Hardware and instead received the "improved" version. It seems retailers use these numbers and pictures on their websites interchangeably.
Does anyone know who stocks the actual smooth (10015824) type of adapter? [member=101]Festool USA[/member] ?
I don't care for FT's latest "improvement". It's bad enough that tools and hoses from different manufacturers are not always compatible, now Festool adds another layer of PITA to this mess.
If old adapter cannot be obtained I'll just file off those bumps inside and outside. Very frustrating.

Fairly certain the smooth adapter was discontinued in favor of the newer locking style.  I am surprised to see Hartville Hardware still using the 10015824 part number.

You might want to ask Chip at Festool Nirvana if he has the smooth adapter.  Bought one from him about two years ago.

Thanks, I'll check with Nirvana.
Seems like EKAT also only carries 202096. What happened to FT promise to carry spare parts for 10 years after tool is discontinued?

[member=15585]Svar[/member] If you do find the old one, can you PM me the source?  I'm fairly certain someone has some old stock lying around somewhere, but locating it the hard part.

Will do, [member=21249]RKA[/member]

God I hate the new locking connections. I'd even pay handsomely to import a few of the older, better ports, to Europe.

Here is a business opportunity: manufacture old style adapters and sell them to disgruntled Festool owners at a premium price.  [big grin]

That’s still the case, however there is an exception to that guideline when the part has been IMPROVED !!!  [poke]

I just got one of the old style from the Hartville website a couple of weeks ago. I did not know there was a new style.

I contacted Hartville, waiting for response.
Update: Hartville says they only have part 202096.  [sad]
