Wonder if anyone can advise here. What is causing air to leak out near the connector and suction to be lost on my RO 90 DX connected to my CT MINI? The sander is brand new out of the box. Very disappointed on the lack of instruction available in the manual and on the Festool site.

I bought a CT MINI last month. This was a significant purchase for me, but I expected to be able to get a ton done with this high-end tool. I also got the 203430 Compact Cleaning Set of attachments.
My first task was vacuuming up a lot of very old paint dust. The manuals were frustratingly lacking on specific instructions on which connectors/couplers to use for the various attachments. This should be straightforward, but it wasn't. One connector or another would cause the hose to leak air badly at the base of the connector ring, and I had to mess around with the various connectors and nozzles to find an arrangement that didn't have air leak and poor suction.
From time to time, the hose gets clogged and when disconnecting to clean it, the small grooves inside the hose end/connectors are jammed full of dust and bits. It's a strange design. But the suction is good when the connection works, and I'm dealing with decades-old paint, so I really want that dust extraction. It's gone well enough, and I decided to take on some sanding projects. Yesterday I purchased the RO 90 DX FEQ.
Today I went to get started, only to find there is apparently no way to connect the sander to the hose that doesn't massively leak air near the connector. What's the point of a hundreds-of-dollars HEPA extractor if air and microparticles are pouring out at the connector? The manual is useless here. You can't even check if you've attached it correctly, or not--never mind that this should be dead-simple on a $460 sander. The manual's instruction is: "At the extractor connector [1-5], a Festool mobile dust extractor with an extraction hose diameter of 27 mm can be connected." That's it. No kidding. There is significantly more instruction devoted to how to open and close a Systainer! I called the service number and found Festool offers no weekend coverage, which was again disappointing for a high-end products marketed to homeowners.
Is the hose broken? Is full extraction and non-leakage not something to expect from this product? Does the "bayonet" on the new Mini not work with the RO DX? Please advise.
