Too often we have (sometimes heated) debate on the best tool for a person .. that often starts with someone asking about the merits of a particular tool.

Obviously many tools have multiple capabilities in a lot of areas, but there's usually a key activity that triggers a person's needs.

Often the ideal tool is not the obvious one as people are often uniformed or have preconceived ideas about the best solution.

I'm asking this as general chat and not to the mods because this is how I tend to think "outcomes based", but would it be beneficial to others?

Imagine topics like ...

I want to rip 150x6mm from 150x75x2400mm

I want to sand 150sqm of old hardwood floors

I want to cut 5mm fibreboard

I want to cut 3mm aluminium

I want to round the edge of a solid surface workbench

I want to cut large 10mm thick ceramic tiles

... etc

Anyway, I think I'd find it interesting and easy to contribute to in a constructive manner. Thoughts?

Kev.

PS ... I suppose it could be "How to?" or "What tool is best for ... ?"
