How do you keep the MFT guide rail from falling?

Like most I use my MFT for more than sawing and the majority of the time the guide rail is in a vertical position.  I just got whacked in the head with it when it fell during some aerobic activity with a hand plane.  Any ideas about how to lock it in place?  I'm thinking some kind of spring latch for childproofing cabinets mounted in the T-bolt slot....

How level is your MFT?  I've heard of this problem being solved by simply leveling the table.

Good point.  It's in my garage so the pivot end is slightly higher than the front.  Since posting this I'm thinking now that this has slowly gotten more loose over the last 2-3 months and maybe i just need to tighten up a screw in the pivot attachment.

Since I'm constantly tilting my MFT up on end on to a dolly to roll into the closet, I put a rubber band around the non-pivot rest for the rail on my MFT, which I loop up over the rail to keep it from flopping around when the table is on end.

But it seems to me like you could do a similar thing on the hinged end. Just having that much extra between the low end of the hinge clamp and the rail might be enough to keep the rail from falling over...
