How many have more than one Festool Dust Extractor?

Thank you skids.  I think I get it now – the small vacs are less convenient to change hoses, secure hose and cord, and generally operate compared to the 26+.

It does seem odd that Festool haven't re-done these, I am sure they could improve them enough to remove most of the nuisances while keeping a handy size and weight.

I already have enough tools the use the dust extractors that I make good use of my CT-22 and I really miss it for the few times I operate without it.

I have the boom arm on the CT 26 with the ultimate dust deputy and it is the greatest. But check the height in your shop in case of any obstructions. I was cutting plywood to sheet in the garage and so glad I had it. The UDD is an excellent accent to it. But that is the only one I have, but SIX................REALLY? [eek]
The very first big tool I bought before finishing the shop was the Clearvue CV 1800. And the kapex will pipe into that. The 26 is for the portable tools.

As far as buying up from a Mini/Midi goes .... doing so would result in a loss of the compactness.  In other words if someone has  a Mini for its size and compactness why would they buy up to a CT26 unless they are willing to give up the compactness?  To me the Mini/Midi  and the rest of the CT line are different vacs for differing purposes.

I think some of the inconvenient aspects on the Mini/Midi are a result of making it compact.  ie; if the hose garage was bigger to accept  a D36 hose or more easily accept the D27 and cord, then the vac would need to be larger or taller to facilitate that and thus loose some of that compactness.

I currently just have one (CT22), but suspect I will eventually be adding another (probably smaller) one down the road.

I don't have one of the larger vacs  with a garage to test it.  I think it will fit. Found this when searching but it is the older CT with a Non-AS hose.

I have a 22 in the workshop and a Midi for out and about. The Midi was my first vac, then I bought another for the workshop... and almost immediately had a lead on a bargain CT22 with a long-life bag; bought it and sold the other Midi. And now I'm looking for another small vac to take out on job sites. A Mini would be ideal, but there's a dealer in the Uk doing bargain Midis for (significantly) less than the price of a Mini - so I guess I'll end up with two Midis after all

I know, but my Festool sheckels for now are dedicated to the things that make dust, that's not to say I don't think their dust collectors are way cool though.

It's the centerpiece of the Festool system. You gotta get one. You will just giggle when you use those little dust-makers once you do.

I probably will when my current dust sucking Frankenstein finally dies. It's ugly as sin but it works, and works surprisingly well. On my current project I used it for sanding some textured walls smooth and generated about 4 gallons of joint compound dust in the cyclone bucket, with an empty shop vac and a light coating of dust on its hepa filter and barely anything on the floor. Elegant it is not, but it sucks...in a good way  [big grin]

I also use the Workshop Cleaning Set in the shop and the Universal Cleaning Set w/ additional Turbo Suction Brush in the house or for traveling. I'm hesitant to have steel tubes anywhere but concrete or really tough floors. Accidents happen...

I normally take 36mm & 27mm antistatic hoses when demo'ing or when I go on site. The Universal Cleaning Set comes with a 36mm non-antistatic hose. I generally leave it in the house.

I seen posts mentioning this before.  (I suppose it's been you everytime.) I keep my metal tubes together all the time.  I just find it easier to leave it together than bothering to take it apart and reassemble eery time.  Plus I don't have any problems with damage with dropping tubes when assembling.
