hi!

this is my first post here. new to the forum, though I registered a while back.

i live in India and the MFT3 table costs over USD 2000 here. Yes, that is right! it costs its weight in gold here :) thanks to import duties and the EURO climbing against the INR...and buying in the US and shipping is not an option either. it costs USD 900 to ship here...

the only option left for me is to buy the hardware kit and put together a table of some sort that works like the MFT3. at least something close....

any ideas? I have not located a thread that describes the kit and how the hardware can be used to build a MFT3 of sorts...i apologize if one exists already and i have not searched the forum in the right manner...

i am hobbyist and can't really afford a MFT3 straight away....

Made his sysport work bench and will build his multifunction tool cart in the near future. Guido Hem has also a version of a modified of a MFT type work bench. They are many version of the MFT3 out there you just need to pick the one that will fit your situation the best.

Welcome aboard [welcome] [welcome] [welcome]

Ron Paulk has done a great job of designing and putting to use a work bench that can be made any size you want and can be disassembled when not in use.  The only hardware he uses are his tools ad guide rails necessary to do what ever he needs to do.  i would give his site a serious look.

You can Google Ron Paul on YouTube to see his etups under all sorts of conditions.

There are others who have done sort of the same as Ron has done under different conditions, depending on individual needs.  I would give a look and see if any of the ideas could work for you.

Check my version here - http://festoolownersgroup.com/festool-jigs-tool-enhancements/my-custom-built-expandable-mft-on-rolling-cart/
Not suggesting you build my entire version, just the upper middle section which is a basic 1080 MFT. But you would need the Festool 494071 MFT 1080 Hardware kit with a 1080mm (42") guide rail. If you use the Festool 494070 MFT 800 Hardware Kit your guide rail is 800mm (32") and your work surface is much smaller.
