HTC Port-A-Mate Miter Saw stand?

I have it and I like it. It is not as light and portable as the dewalt but the light power strip extra support and especially the clamp are really handy (you can put the power planer in it when its in the joiner acc and use the supports for longer material.

I'm interested in one of these also.  What do you mean when you say you can put the power planer in it when its in the joiner acc?  What is the joiner acc?

pop the planer into the bench unit attach optional fence and place in vice on portamate and one has a jointer.

Glass1, thanks for your reply.  I guess I just don't understand enough about this to fully visualize your setup.  But I have bugged you enough about it and I appreciate your reply.

Bruce,  Check out their web site, link in 1st email.  The additional pictures under the main one show the stand with a planer, scroll saw, etc loaded on it.

Steve, thanks, I have seen the web site and I understand how the planer is attached via the quick-mounts.  What I don't understand is Glass1's setup using what he calls an "optional fence" in the vise in order to use the planer as a jointer.  I can't find an optional fence on the website and I don't understand how it is being used.

The clamps great for two reasons.  you can clamp a board on it and bring the tool to it (supports on stand support board)  you can also put the 850 planer in the bench unit and add the adjustable fence and place in the clamp and you have a jointer  ie bring the board to the tool  again the stands supports can be used as infeed and outfeed.

glass1, thanks for the clarification.  I didn't understand you were talking about the 850.  Now it makes sense.

I bought one, and I've ordered 3 accessory tool mounts and a router table attachment.  I haven't used the stand yet, but I doubt I'll be disappointed.  Anything will be a step up from using the garage floor.

Great!  Let us know how you like it.  I would especially be interested in how you like the router table attachment.

I have had mine for a couple of years now.  I use it mainly for my SCMS because I like the rollers on each end to support the work piece.  I've used the clamp a couple of times to hand plane a board.  It is fairly heavy so if your are looking for something really portable you may want to look at another brand. I am planning on getting a tool mount for my scroll saw.

$23 @ Amazon.  Free shipping.

I'm sending all mine back.  The router table was at least as bad as you'd expect for $110.  I didn't get the stand open, but the rest of the parts were flimsy enough that I abandoned the idea.  Looks like I might have to shop for a Sawhelper.

I use the Ryobi (A18MS01) stand for my Kapex on site work and I love it! It weighs around 10 pounds, supports up to 400 pounds, folds up to a small footprint, assembles with no tools and it is totally adjustable. Plus, it only cost $99.00. I have used 4 different saws on it with great results. Not for 12" SCMS.
