Thanks to Festools website I learned of a Festool open house on Saturday, March 29th 10 minutes from my house. I get to see the new tools including that miter saw thingy.
I wonder how good the security is going to be?

Acetool is having the Kapex and the others on site.
aka acetoolonline.com

It will be nice to try it and see if it can impress me as much as I expect it to.

Nice,

My North Eastern Brother.

I am 35 minutes from the George,

But unfortunately tomorrow I have prior obligations.

Hi, is there any info on the website about the open house?  I can't seem to find any.

Third from the top, Seth.  One of the things that I will be integrating into the new and improved website is the ability to sign up for notifications of open houses in your area and the ability to search for open houses, trade shows and dealers by zip code / geographic location easier.

hi,

Thanks very much Shane.  I was looking on the Ace Tool site maybe that was the problem?

Sounds like fun.

To my knowledge no distributor has ever had an open house with Festool in the southeast...i.e.Charlotte area. Wide open opportunity here.

Just got back.

Ended up coming home with the rs2e sander, some paper and dominos.

The mft 3 looks nice, but not nice enough to trade up. The routers too, were not something I see myself purchasing.
Now for the Kapex....
It is larger than I expected. I guess the photos fooled my eye as to the size.
So much quieter than my Dewalt, the cut edge of the material is like the ts55. Nice and smooth
Laser is dead on balls accurate
It cuts up to 60 degrees..
Dust collection is pretty darn good
Crown stops on extra wings are plastic but far supperior to what I am used to. They offer great support ,are easy to set and are very stable. They are an add on option I think 85 dollars gets you 2 aluminum wings and the crown stops..
Overall, without using it for a period of time , I am fairly impressed.

I don't know if this is known around here, but www.festool.net is the German web site, but in English

Guys, if you would all fill out your profiles completely, Per, and others wouldn't have to ask where you re from as in the quote above.
