Fits my finishing boxes and nail spotter perfectly, and it's airtight enough that I can toss them in without cleaning them and the mud won't dry out (I keep a splash of water in the bottom to help) I used to keep them in a 5 gallon bucket which wouldn't fit them all and this is so much better.

And just to make all you guys feel better about your Festool addiction drywall tools make Festool prices seem reasonable. That's $1500 in that sys and no motors, LED lights or anything like that. Just machined aluminum and steel with a bit of rubber.

I am not trying to step on the OP's posting toes and would love to hear more also, but if you do a search on YouTube for "automatic drywall finishing tools" you can see a bunch of videos.  I normally am not around new construction or other crews so I had never seen them in operation until I just watched some videos.

I agree with the OP.  I bought a Midi just to see what would fit, and I'm planning on getting a few more.  Right now, I have my "Clean Up Kit" in a Midi.  All the vac wand parts, a bench brush, and even the push broom and regular broom heads fit in there with an extra vac bag and a couple dozen trash bags.  I have a couple of compact paint extension poles I use for broom handles that fit in the hard case with my tracks.  No more loose brooms!

Midis are fantastic...I just received my 6th.  This is a II for my corded Milwaukee mini band mill.  I keep my Milwaukee 18v tools (4 batteries, impact driver, 3/8" driver, grinder and hammer drill in a III.  I keep two corded 4 1/2" grinders and a tray with blades and wrenchs (from the old Plano where  they used to reside) in a III.  I keep my pry bars, cold chisels, chalk lines and cord in a II.  I have a Hitachi 4 5/8" planer in a III.  The last one is a III that contains my Milwaukee bandfile, guides and belts.  These are not Festool... they are Tanos.  Same beasts, just different colors.  I recently decided to start buying color-coded latchs to make Id-ing easier.

Posted too soon...Hey Tanos and Festool...how about a handtruck that accepts the Midis!!  I just had to haul a bunch of this stuff into a courthouse in order to install an electronic access system.  Dedicated cart would have made this much less a pain.

Just out of curiosity, what do those do?

Here is a vid a buddy of mine made. It really shows how awesome finishing boxes are.

Super fast perfectly finished joints.

I was wondering how the pros got those super smooth seams, now I know, thanks for the explanation.

Wow, good stuff.  Bit of an investment for small jobs, but it seems like these tools would enable one person to mud and tape an entire house reasonably fast.
