I saw a few videos where I believe Brice and not sure I have his handle right Honeydokreg?  I also think Ron Paulk had em on

Anyway, they seem to be wearing some type of carpenter pants that have extra in the knee area as well as outboard pockets for what i assume would be screws nails etc.  I'll post a link to the videos I saw them in.  I have bad knees and these would be nice.  Plus the extra large pockets would come in handy.

Here are the links

I just found a local place that carries the blaklader pants..Wooohooo goin shopping  :)

I wear the blaklader bantam pants and shorts. Most of my work is inside so I find the bantams perfect.  Heres a video I did on the bantam pants

And here is Kreg showing the new 1600 pants

Pretty sure those are Bjornklader. I've got some of their pants and shorts and love them.

If you are working in a warmer climate, you might also look into the Blaklader pants. They have some with a lighter material.

I have the Blakladder pants and shorts, I've been happy with them.  I like the simpler tool pockets on the Blakladders and they are lest expensive of the carpenter pants.

JUst picked up a pair as well as the knee pads...Will be using them this afternoon!  I like the pockets.  I did get the lighter ones as well.  I swear the black and green ones would be like wearing laminate  :)

We picked up some Björnkläders at JLC a couple of years ago and we've never looked at, or for, anything else.  Lotsa pockets and they fit well. On numerous occasions, one of my guys has worn them until they were able to stand up on their own.  [embarassed]  Toss them into the wash and, other than the paint stains, they're almost as good as new.

JR was able to snag the last pair of hot pink [drooling] Björnkläders, at a discount no less, and uses them when she does her gardening.

I hope I have this right, but I believe they offer two different types of knee pads, regular and heavy duty.

i wear 90% of the time the bjornlader pants I just like them better than blakenlader,  I have 10 pair of the bjorn  and 5 of the blakenladers.

they are great pants  I like the pocket arrangement is the main thing I like better over the others.

i wear them day in and day out for years now have not put on a tool belt for several years now.

both companies have a new style  one is the ace carpenter and the other is the 1600  have them both they are great  around 100 bucks bet well worth it.

why buy knockoffs when you can buy the best even though they are pretty good.... do you wear levis  or  lee or  they are not the same.

Well, JLC is around the corner so anyone interested in seeing/trying Björnkläders should get their chance.

Speaking of JLC...

Anyone planning on attending?
Any free admission codes available?

I wanna see the Bjornkladers...I wear the Blakladers Bantam (lightest weight) and they're very comfy with an excellent price point!

I am definitely attending JLC!  We need to start a thread and figure out a meet!!

I just ordered a pair of Bjorn's. At 5' 6" (in the morning, if I stretch), fit is always a problem.  I hope they fit.

Dan.

Got the Blaklader Bantam pants based solely off this thread.  Thoroughly happy with them.  Love ‘em.  Ordered another pair, and a pair of the shorts, and also the knee pads.  Soooo happy, compared to the convertible North Face pants I used for several years.

FYI, McFeely's is currently selling everything 10% off, and $1 S&H, and they carry them.    [smile]

Interesting pants, what do you guys think of the sizing?  I wear 34 waist and 32 inseam should I order them like I normally would any other jean style pant?

thank you for the tip

I have the Bjornkladers, and I usually take a 36/32 jean but I had to go up to a size 38 waist, the 36 fit me, but it was snug...hmmm, maybe too much turkey and chocolate at Christmas.

Tim

I would do the length at 30 so knee pads fit good. Length will still be fine. Waste are pretty true. As long as your 34 fit fine and not stretch 34.

I usually wear a 38" waist but they (blaklader) must have gotten a new supplier. I had to go up to 40" to get the proper fit. [scared]

Did you buy them anywhere near the GTA Tim?  This is an item I'd like to feel/touch and even try on for fit before I buy.  Only place in Canada I've found them is in BC.

In doing some research today, I found an even bigger Swedish company that makes work wear called Snickers, but unfortunately, it seems to be another NAINA dead end.  Somebody on another forum mentioned Snickers had a limited presence at some point in NA, but bowed out when the candy company came and persisted on name usage threats/litigation.

They sold products under the name of "Skillers" here in the N. America.  I never owned any of their paints but I have one of their tools belts.  Best tool belt I've ever owned.

Hi Kevin D:
Yes you can buy Bjornkladers' at Mr. Safey Shoes. They carry three: Kreg's "favourite" (sic) the Carpenter Ace in clay and black which are both 12oz poly/cotton blend and the third that is heavy 100% cotton. All three appear to have the same pockets and design with different material.
I like them, thanks to Kreg.

Skillers are sold by Atlas in downtown Toronto and online. I have a pair, but so far I like the all cotton Bjornkladers' better, I will try Kreg's favorite poly/cotton blend style soon.  The material on the Skillers and the Carpenter Ace Pants seems to be about the same. I got cement all over my Skillers so I don't look as good in them any more  [big grin] but the knee pads are pretty good.
