Ideas for Combining tools in single systainers

Just curious to see what ideas people have for combining multiple Festool tools into single systainers. I love the systainer system but I see them as having a lot of unused dead space and would like to reconfigure the inside to fit multiple like tools such as 2 sanders in one, maybe a tsc55 and carvex in one, or multiple drills together. I am just trying to simplify my storage and transport needs.

I found these pictures of multiple tools in one systainer.
BTW. The systainers are not mine.
But I always carry 2 or 3 machines in a large systainer (TS 55).
One problem is they can get heavy that way.

Not exactly what you are asking but I have a cordless combi drill and cordless Impact screwdriver in the same box as a blockplane, combination square, chalkline, metal cutting snips, screwdriver bits and a few other common usage handtools.

Just means I only get one box out the van for quite a few jobs.

Hi guys. I've done this with my T-18 and my new BHC-18. I've put them in one of the new Sys-Combi II - with my various bits and drills in the drawer underneath. It's really handy to have all of my drilling and screw capacity in one systainer. Also, it means that when I work, I get the two machines out - and can then stack the sys-combi II and have full access to my drill bits etc. during the day. It really helps keeping things organized - and it's a joy not having to stack and re-stack all day.

Today I tested putting my Carvex and my Rotex 90 in the Sys-Combi II - with the various Carvex bases and Rotex abrasives in the drawer - and that work equally well. So now I just need to buy another Sys-Combi.

I'm a new member, so I can't post pictures yet - but I will, when I can.

This is the first I've heard of the Sys-Combi, which seems to be NAINA. Is there a generic Tanos unit available in the states?

Not yet.

I can't wait for that to hit the US shores!  Such a great use of space.

Cheers. Bryan.

This setup also has an attic lid on top which holds various driving bits, drill bits and Festool bit clips and holders.

I just tried adding the RO150 to the ETS 150 systainer. It worked, but I had to take off the RO pad and vacuum attachment, which was easy. It left me a sys-3 for a ton of abrasives. I'll be testing it out over the next week to see if I like it.

I work with Festool and Metabo tools. I save the Metabo tools in Metalocs, they've the same sizes as Systainters and are connetable to eachother. If it's not Festool or Metabo: in a antracite Systainer.

My two cordless impactdrivers, two cordless drills, drills and bits I keep them in a Metaloc 3. In a Metaloc 2 my cordless grinder and cordless multitool. In two antracite Tanos Systainers 1 the batteries and chargers.

Toolboxes and Storagesboxes are antracite too! Festool tools, ofcourse in Festool Systainers! Like the two sanders (RTS400 & DTS400) in a Systainer 1.

In the same Systainer of the circular saw I keep my jigsaw.

We brought in TANOS Sys-Combi and Sys-Sort Systainers last year and they sold out pretty quickly and have another order on the way.  I'm surprised to hear that there isn't a distributor of these in the US yet.

The Sys-Combi II is a great size for tools like the DF 500 or RO 90, with accessories/consumables in the drawer below.

Here's a Metabo Metaloc III with:

- Metabo BS 18 Quick
- Metabo SB 18 Quick LTX BL
- Metabo SSD18LTX200
- Metabo ASC Ultra speedcharger
- 2x Metabo battery
- Various chucks and a bit holder

Fits nicely, if I were to do it again I might leave out the room for the charger and fit in some more bit/drills in that corner. Oh and would probably try to do it a little less sloppy/hack and slash. Too bad there's no TL-DF version of the Metaloc's!

A pair ETS150s in a Sys- III. Works well since they share pads in addition to abrasives. I keep a small assortment of abrasives in the sander systainer. Which is enough to take care of most sanding work. I have another Systainer with the full load of abrasives. I only need to take the additional abrasives when I know that the job is a major sanding job.

I wanted to get the RO150 in as well, and it does fit. But it was a little too piled in especially with added accessories and abrasives.

I'm not really a road guy but I have streamlined my carry in one way. I no longer carry my sandpapers in a systainer. I carry them in an a accordion file envelope I purchased in Staples. They have enough inserts to cover all my grits and tabs to identify each grit. It even squishes to fit behind my seat..

Seth - Cool dividers!  I've only seen dividers for the small systainer drawers.  Are the dividers in your systainer picture available in the US?

Looks like Woodcraft still has them in Anthracite. They come in two different heights. One length. Cut to whatever length needed. They flip and slide together.  If you are putting at least two each way running the full width and length they will stay in place pretty well. But I generally glue them to the bottom with super glue so they don't shift around.
