Dear Festool,

Without going into a lot of detail as to why, I think that if the Domino had upfront illumination, it would assist greatly in aligning the tool to my mark on the material to be joined.

I concur.  With my old eyes, that is sometimes a problem.  It needs to be a decently bright, white or yellowish light, though.  The bluish LED light on my Makita jigsaw helps but the bluish light is not good when trying to follow a light pencil mark.

Dave,

Thanks for your comments.  I did not want to bring age up, but that is certainly a concern in my case.

The eye specialists claim that the typical 60 year old person needs three times as much light (lumens) to see as well as a 20 year old person.

I added little led lights to almost all of my tools. I purchased some expensive ones ,but the best ones cost about a 1.00 or less each and have a stretch band attached. Until they offer the light just put on on the those. I bet sooner than later  almost every tool will have the lighting built in.
