Children's rocking chair ideas...

I have a few designs in my head.

Anybody have a design they really like?

Tom

I'm looking for..... LOVE [big grin]

I've seen a wide spectrum and you need to help us a little to narrow it down .. are you after something that's a miniature traditional rocker with a bit of funkiness to it or are you after something like fun toy.

I'm guessing this is grandchild territory again and there's a desire to apply serious workmanship [smile]

The Maloof ones look nice.

I would probably try to figure out steam bent, laminated, or solid wood.
I was thinking of doing one with a fibreglass seat... I still might... You just gave me an idea.

[member=40772]Holmz[/member] consider carbon fibre ... c/f layup is a skill seriously worth learning and it is SO COOL..

Yeah Kev... I used to do a bit.

I have a couple of car seats and a few sets of old skis... [big grin]

Tom,
There is a thread in Member Projects for a Rocking Sled out of cherry. It's really cool. Now you could make some modifications and add a higher back with arm rest on the sides. This would be a cool and unique project.
Sorry I don't know how to add a link to the thread.
Cheers,

In all the wrong places....

I can scale down an adult size rocker for fit. Leaning more towards [a] traditional piece(s).

Oldest daughter who is never---ever--never having children is carrying twins.[eek][scared] I'm considering doing an adult size for her, one for each of the girls.

The daughter likes black, white oak, cerused finish is what I'm leaning towards.

Tom, as usual, I can't wait to see what you come up with.  Will this be on your youtube channel as well?  Bill

This looks fun for twins. Very contemporary, but great nonetheless.

Cheers. Bryan.

Yeah I like that.  [cool]

Thanks for all the suggestions. I'm still looking. By the time I make a decision the twins will be graduating from college.

Oh, twins!

I had seen this one before, too.
