Earlier this week I used my Festool saw and rail to cut a straight line on some 3/4 oak flooring around a fireplace hearth.  Sparks flew all over the place as I cut through several flooring staples.  Assuming the blade was toast (and having forewarned the customer about just such probability) I called my local rep to get a new blade.  He told me he's heard of several such experiences with little or no damage to the blade.  I inspected mine and it looks just fine- I was expecting chipped teeth.  Oh well, I needed a spare anyway.

Yesterday I set the plunge depth to maximum to measure the angle for a bevel cut. After adjusting the angle proceeded to make a test cut on a scrap sitting on top of my foam covered table saw and heard an unexpected sound. Cast iron. It was about time to resharpen that blade anyway but the teeth are still in good form.
