In the category of "The best laid plans of Mice and Men..."

So, I've been getting inspired by all the shopmade sysports and rolling MFT carts, and decided to start a build of my own. I recently ordered a reconditioned Kapex and RO90. My plan is to build a rolling cart for the Kapex with room to store my CT36, and to build a rolling MFT/3 cart with systainer storage. I decided that it would be best to have the drawer slides or shelves adjustable, so of course I had to order the LR32 kit and rail as well  [big grin]
So here's where I hit a bump in the road. I figured I'd order the LR32 kit and rail overnight to get it here before the long Thanksgiving weekend. That way I'd have time to work on it during my time off.

Well... the LR32 rail showed up like this  [eek]

and the LR32 kit base plate was missing a part...

Hopefully the rest of the project will go smoother than it has started  [smile]

By the way... Shane already contacted me via PM to see if I needed any help in getting replacement parts, so kudos again to Festool CS

Andew  So far you had some real bad luck with things from your dealer. I can tell you first hand I have been where you are with the guide rail. They do not ship well as most shippers are not as careful with packages as we would think they are.
I have stopped ordering any rails that way and now go out of my way to pick one up when I need another at a vendor directly

Hang in there the Festool experience really is awesome and this to shall pass

Maybe you can use that rail for putting the holes on all those curved cabinet parts!

holy cow(pun intended)  that takes some doing.
you could see how it could be a small bit bent but a full 90  would be hard
i presume the dealer will right it off and ship another. maybe if you have to offer them a few dollars for it.
im sure both ends are probably good . short lengths of rail are really handy

If you get to keep the bent rail, cut it down.  A short rail always comes in handy.  I have about two or three extra 1400's (don't ask why) but I can't bring myself to cut one down...if one were to get bent, that's another story.

I thought the same thing at first... In fact I almost titled the post "LR32 rail for arches"  [big grin]

The FedEx driver stepped off the truck with the rail in hand and said "I hope this is suppose to be shaped like this"  [eek]... I just laughed and told the driver "if you had any idea the precision the tools were made with and what the rail was for, you'd be laughing too.

"that takes some doing"... you're not kidding... it's not like a corner was slightly damaged or it had a slight bend... it looks like it was dropped from the FedEx plane at altitude  [smile]

I refused the shipment, but now wish I would have thought to keep it.
I normally order my Festool fix from either Bob Marino or Tom Bellemare, but in this instance I ordered from Amazon for the Saturday delivery option (I'm Amazon Prime, so it was only $6). Not a knock against Amazon, as I order a ton of other stuff from them and they are great to deal with. In fact they already replaced the rail and are overnighting a replacement LR32 kit. I've heard ordering the rails by mail is hit or miss, but I was fortunate to get my 1900 rail from Bob without a scratch earlier in the year. From now on, I'll probably drive over to Orlando and visit the local Woodcraft for rails.
