This is just a poll. Please no replies or political views. If this is against the rules please delete. This is just out of curiosity.

I really am ambidextrous ;D Throw left write right and bowl either way. I'm confused :-\

I vote for candidates not parties. Having said that I do think it's time for a change.

One of my recently departed heroes Utah Phillips had an interesting take on politics he didn't vote he used his body as a ballot.

Maybe we need some more voting options:
Liberal Democrat
Conservative Democrat
Liberal Republican
Conservative Republican
Libertarian
Tory
Whig
Communist
Anarchist

I'm kind of joking, of course.

although im not eligible to vote in your elections

i have voted independant with the specific intention of trying to understand a little more about american politics

it was not done with the intention of skewing "your" vote (its just without voting i cant see the results)

without straying into (american) politics too far

would somebody explain something to me

here in england, we essentially have a two party system, labour and conservative  [left wing (socialists) and right wing]

it is mixed up now, because "new" labour as they like to term themselves have rather less socialist views than they used to

traditionally the working class (i belive you would call them blue collar workers) are more likely to vote labour

traditionally the middle class (i belive you call them white collar workers) would be more likely to vote conservative (also called tory)

matt has kindly suggested whigs as a party to vote for. this party no longer exists (not for a century or so)

when the whigs existed the two pary system was whigs and torys

my guess is that neither the whigs or torys had ANY sympathy for the working class

I don't think any party has sympathy for the working class. :-[ At least that's how I feel every time I process payroll. :-\

quite correct, politicians want tax revenues to fund their spending

however the question im asking is

as a "gross gereralisation" would a blue collar worker be more likely to vote democrat or republican

OR

is american politics so different (to england) that workers and lawyers would vote in equal numbers for the same party

The American electorate is divided in to 3 parts.

Have's, Have not's and those in between.

When the meter starts to swing in numbers towards have not's, no matter who is in office,

D or R will be punished. Same goes for the meter swinging the other way, no matter who,

they will be rewarded.  Per's Poli/Sci 101.

What Matthew said.

How about

monarchists

theists (bunch of those, no?)

"If I ruled the world..."

Larry

the green party here is more than a little "mucked up" my miss spelling is deliberate  ;D

they REALY like renewable energy like wind power, REALY hate wind farms because they are noisy  :o  ,  REALY hate wind farms because they are a blot on the landscape,

they REALY REALY hate wind farms because "somebody will make a profit" ..................  very english...........  very socialist

the fact is....................................  there is always one SINGLE perosn who has an objection

why is this so bad in a country of 56 million or so

because the english ALWAYS like to take every point of view into consideration HOWEVER small the minority concerned

we DARE NOT offend any minority, however SMALL and HOWEVER extreme their position....................................

the freedom to express our views is absolute BUT

try expressing a NORMAL english viewpoint, it is automatically considered racist by our own police

monarchist, there is a leading question

remember the queen (at this moment in time, rather than a king) is the head of state

BUT she/he has NO POWER whatsoever

the english parliament made sure of that hundreds of years ago
