Interesting Video on Tool reviews

ads arent a big deal to me..i get free info and take the content for what it is.

I find majority of youtubers are pretty open about their sponsors. People just trying to make living, nothing wrong with that. Stop treating it as some conspiracy. Even a sales pitch has some useful information, you've got head on your shoulders to sort it out.

Yea I basically just don't trust anything I see on TV, online, hear on the radio, etc. I watch the video, sometimes muted if I can't stand the individual talking in it and take whatever info I need from it to make my own purchasing decisions. People are on YouTube to make money, get stuff for free or something else that somehow benefits them. That's why it's so big.

It should also be noted that AvE gets about $5-10k from Youtube ads a month, and another ~$10k a month from Patreon donations.  While I think he's a great guy and I love his videos itts super easy to criticize sponsored videos and shill videos when you're getting a ton of money from ads and donations.  Its alot harder for the little guys who don't have 500k subscribers.

I agree it should be noted! It's a perfect example of how his channel has gone from strength to strength because of his honesty and style, and he makes some decent money as a result. Shows how much people value his opinion over those who are in the pocket of the manufacturers financially through free samples/kickbacks, or just being beholden to the "good grace" of the manufacturers whom they rely on to loan the tools. AvE is entirely independent of the Tool manufacturers and that is why he's got his success.

Never care whether these YouTubers are paid or how much they receive as long as I, as a viewer, don't have to pay anything. I will get off a clip as soon as I don't find it worth my time and that usually means within 30 seconds or much less (fast forward or skip and then exit in no time). I download the worthy ones and watch them later (using also the fast forward and skip clicks wherever and whenever applicable).
