I read an interesting piece by NPR the other day regarding this new graphical revolution to flatter design seen here on the iOS 7 screens.

I then was sent this by a good friend and found it to be even more interesting:https://medium.com/design-ux/a93647e5a44b

Essentialy the tldr is a flat or empty graphic requires more brain processing as we subconsciously scan the inner and outer space around an icon, for example, rather than just the outside perimeter of a "non flat" icon that may have shading, gradient, etc.

Flat design is all the rage right now. While I can't say from a brain activity perspective what it does, I think the goal is cleaner, simpler user interfaces.

I'm yet to be convinced that the user experience with iOS7 will be a raging success. First time I haven't dived into the beta too with 7 ... maybe I'm getting old !

Color looks different in various photos, some closer to Festool green than others.

... for which reason we need a picture with a Festool item right next to the new phone in order to be able to tell.

The new iPhone color will go right along with the Festool Nike shoe
