Hello to all. Been lurking on this site for a while now so thought I d say hi. Just gotta say I ve only recently started using the Internet as a research tool to find out things about woodworking and I m blown away by how useful and fast it is.
Seeing how other people do stuff like stairs, doors, cabinets etc... Is a fantastic way to get new ideas for projects and tool setups.
Any how thought I d post some pics of a front entrance door and surround that I did for my house. Cause I do this for a living I rarely get chance to do stuff for my own place so I really enjoyed this project.

it is a nightmare trying to get work done at home.

Mmmm. Can t get the hang of posting images. Does anyone know if you can post images on the fog through an IPad or do I need to use a computer.

You will be unable to post pictures with the iPad, there are reasons but I am not sure of them.

You can post pictures but you have to do it through the Tapatalk or Tapatalk HD App. They're available via the App Store. I think 2.99 and 4.99.

Sync your IPAD to your PC if you have one and post from there. Should work a treat!

Man what an epic that was thanks for the advice on Tapatalk app. Now that I ve got it working it's really easy to use
The above pics just show how the swept head was made using the router to make template then running it through the moulder.
The surround is made of softwood. Unfortunately I hav nt got any pics of the contruction of the door surround but took about as long to do as the door and frame.still it was worth it in the end.I ve included this pic to show the main reason for doing the surround in the first place. Check out that subsidence . With the frame touching at the one corner there was about a 40 mm gap at the top!Had to underpin the whole extension but that's another story.
