Hello,
I picked up a ts75 last week and it makes an intermittent buzzing sound while cutting that I have never heard from my ts55. Blade is tight and all is adjusted to stay snug on the track as it should, but the sound is concerning. Thanks

Shouldn't be any break in on that.  I take it that you have heard the TS55 make a vibrating noise when the electronics adjust to the load on the saw?  And that this sounds different?

Try purposely varying the feed rate while making a cut and see what happens sound wise.

Kevin,

Sorry for the delay responding.

Like Seth indicated, there is not a break in period for the saw. It's always hard to say whether a sound that someone is hearing is normal or not. You could call the service center and let them hear it over the phone or shoot a video for us to look at.

Ultimately, if you think there is a problem with the saw, please discontinue use of the saw and contact your dealer to make arrangements for an exchange or initiate a repair order on our website for warranty repair.

I will see about making a video when I make it back to the shop tomorrow night. Thank you for the quick responses though. It may be just the motor adjusting speed, but I figured I would throw it out there just to be safe.

Some users on the forum feel that some of the tools have a 'break in period'. I'm of the opinion that the tools a ready for professional use right out of the box. As has been suggested it's difficult to interpret or assume what someone is hearing. However I have a TS 75 and the motor has constant electronics that maintain speed under load and it can have a unique sound that you may not be used to (having never heard it before). It sounds like it switching and clutching through gears, it kinda sounds like it's struggling, but really it's maintain speed.

Again I want to emphasise this is based on me assuming what I think you're hearing based on my experience with my TS 75. One thing I can say for sure is that Festool will stand behind their product. Good luck! the TS 75 is a great and very versatile saw.
