Is there a way to optionally turn off classifieds from the "unread" feed?

Is there a configuration option on the forum to enable selective filtering of what ends up in a person's "unread" list? It seems to me that we are getting a significant membership that just come on board the FOG to sell stuff and I'm scrolling through the growing number of classifieds to find real topics ... if I felt like looking at buying stuff I'd happily go to a classifieds section!

I'd be curious whether other people feel the same ... when I come to the FOG and just see my first "unread" page heavily peppered with classified I typically just bug out [sad]

Hmmmm, I don't think so. But maybe.

Yep,  it's annoying and it is also becoming more prevalent.

I'm all for levels of controls, but a quick count of my feed is 8 classifieds out of 99 on the list.  I don't think it's excessive.

I will admit four posts by a single user for four items might be excessive.  And none festool  ::)

Would be nice if we could filter by area.

The Classifieds are mainly pointless for me (as of being in Germany and them being mostly US) and the 'WIN THIS' basically add insult to injury (as all of these so far seem to have been limited to continental US residents).
