It's all Peter Parfitt's Fault...

Recent struggles with my cumbersome workshop bench (a very basic sheet of mdf on homemade legs) and far too much research on YouTube resulted yesterday in a phone call to my "dealer" to order TWO new MFT3 benches! [drooling].
Almost instantly upon hanging up the phone I'm browsing a well known tool site here in the UK to order a full set of the infamous "Parf Dogs" and Bench Dogs.  [smile]

It's all Peter Parfitt's Fault... [not worthy] [thanks]

Yes, he is a completely evil man, spreading temptation ...

[big grin]

Ha ha I have been speaking to him this week after a video review my thumb is hanging over the buy button [scared] so it all his fault I am just thinking should I wait for the road show might get som good deals

Yes I agree its Peters fault I have bought the TS55 and the Domino 700 on the back of his reviews, as well as confusing a perplexed trade counter person at Carbatec in Perth when asking for Parf dogs. I would even buy the router table (sorry non Festool) he reviewed if available here in Australia!

Peter's dogs are the best addition I made to my MFT.
Uses for them are limited only by lack of imagination. There's also a guy I found who makes an individual version of the MFT top, Slightly different sizes, and configuration, but the holes are just as accurate, and 20mm in dia.) So, I bought one and another set of Parf-dogs.  This has transformed the use of my hand-work bench. With the dogs, you are not limited to using your TS55 saw. For run of the mill cross cuts, I use an Elu 9" circular-saw with mine, with a parallel strip of 18mm ply as a guide. Works like a dream. (My Elu is 20 years old, and it will still out perform most circular saws available today, BTW.)

Hi Everyone

I have just spotted this ( [embarassed] ) many thanks.

I hope the supply chain is keeping up with demand for Parf Dogs. I have discovered, through a charming chap in The Netherlands, that they can be bought in the Baptist stores in Arnhem - https://www.baptist.nl/en/  Axminster sell them here in the UK and, of course, Lee Valley have them in NA.

I am working on a TV cabinet in walnut which I hope might be finished by Christmas. The reason it will take a while is that I am making videos of several new products before the end of the year and will also produce a "Christmas Present Ideas" video with various tools and perhaps tech items from £15 up to £300.

I have to squeeze in a reprise on the Dust Hub as I have now fitted some earthing wire to the various plastic pipes which are attached to it.

Many thanks again.

Peter

Well I've bought nothing since that domino on 10th September. I'm almost clean!!
Although I did get my fix another way. I won a cxs (which I've decided to sell to fund the UG set) and I swapped a dewalt planer for a ro150!!

My credit card needs a rest until the new year at least.

It sure is, after about 6 years on the fence I am also about to press the buy button for a kapex after watching his two reviews on it, just got to convince the wife that its a good idea. PETER PARFITT  gives great reviews, think he should have his own TV show!

My disposable income has been disposed of. I suppose I will refrain now until post Christmas! Otherwise there'll be no turkey! [big grin]

HA...just wait...a 3rd MFT/3 might be on the way sooner than you know it!  3 MFT/3s is the way to go.  That's what the guy from Festool told me...  [big grin]

Delayed releases and stock issues are really playing havoc with me ... Peter needs to time his videos with Oz launches [sad]

That's the same thing that Festool trainer extraordinaire Steve Bace said at the recent all-day event at Acme Tools. Seems to be the Festool 'company line' - perhaps for good reason...

The strategy is that by releasing my videos at the earliest opportunity it gives you and NA a chance to save up for the next wizard tool  [big grin]

I agree, I used my new Parf Dogs tonight and they are nice.  I'm building a rolling base cabinet for my MFT to sit on, wonder where I got an idea like that?!?!?
