IVAC System

I just installed an IVAC system to automatically turn on a Festool vac when I fire up my SawStop table saw. The Festool vac connects to the saw’s overarm blade guard and dust collector. I have a 220v big cyclone vac connected to the saw’s 4“ port.

The IVAC current sensor clamps onto the table saw’s 220v power cord and the Festool vac plugs into the IVAC’s switching box.

At first, the IVAC system didn’t work. The current sensor seemed to be working correctly but the switching box wasn’t.

I tried unplugging both IVAC units then plugging them back in. Presto! It all worked.

Dust collection has always been very good, but now it is excellent.

I also have the iVac pro system. I have used it successfully for the past year on my onieda V3000 and K3. Only difference is that I had to purchase the high hp contactor version of the iVac switch so I can run 3+hp motor. It works flawlessly. Only time I have to reset it is after a power outage.

Although my IVAC system is working now, it bothers me that I don't know what caused it to start working after it was initially inoperative. What do you do to restart your system after a power failure?

Do you have the standard system or the Pro?

I believe in both case you might have to switch off and on from the picture below

I found another model, the Pro magnetic switch. For that one, with no doubt you have to flip off & on.

I would have to reset the mag switch on the Oneida.

I bought the Pro version. The IVAC only switches a 110v Festool vac. 

The system is working flawlessly. If it malfunctions, I will cycle that switch.

Wow,  you posted a Unicorn, a device with a 20A plug in the wild.  Closest I have seen before is a spec sheet for a special microwave the used one, but they showed no picture of it.
