Hallo folks,

I would please like to ask for an advice. I am not sure what jig saw to buy. I am not a professional crafts man but when it comes to tools I would like to get a good tool that lasts. First of all, is there any difference in akku or corded equipment ? Of course other than having easier job with akku in cases where power is not an option. I mean when it comes to cutting, performance and so on. I am a fan of Festo of course though most of my tool so far is the Protool which is a daughter company of Festool I suppose. So I am not certain whether the right indicator for me should be the power of the device or anything else. The Protool JSP120E does not offer akku version but has a higher power than the Carvex PS420 (720W versus 550W). Any hints for me please ? The work application varies a lot but usually cutting a polypropylene sheets (

a cordless jig saw would be very handy on those odd situations where there is no power on site etc . but i wouldnt want it to be my main jigsaw. i have a trion and love it. i would like a cordless jig saw for my dewalt cordless drill for those situations

Welcome to the FOG Karel,

It depends on saw, saw blades, materials and your preferences. You can bring pieces of different material to Festool/Protool dealer and try to cut these pieces with different saw and saw blades there.

As I was choosing my jigsaw, dust extraction was an important issue, so if my saw is going to be connected to a dust extractor by a hose it might as well have a cable.

If im on site then there is usually electricity other wise I take a generator.

I think a good use for an akku model is when your up a ladder or outside on a decking.

For most tools I prefer the corded model. Battery tools just don't have the power corded tools have. And you never have to fool around with batteries, just plug it in and you're ready.

Hallo all,

thank you for your tips and welcome. I guess I will then have find a place where I can try out both products and test which one fits better for my work.
