To schedule my 2009 vacation from the office, I needed to know when JLC Live New England was scheduled for this year . I visited the JCL site and the schedule was posted in a PDF file. ->http://www.jlclive.com/pdf/2009Shows.pdf They also have the 2009 New England exhibition hall floor layout as well (pretty cool implementation) ->http://www.jlclive.com/JLC2008/JLCNE08/connect/public/fp.aspx (rest assured our favorite tool manufacturer will be there again, in the center of the exhibition floor no less, same place as last year)
While I am only a DIY'er, or occasionally help out a friend, relative or neighbor, I have been attending this show, off and on, since its inception. Back in the beginning, the "parking lot" across the street was nothing more than mounds of dirt and muddy dirt at that (it is held in the Spring after all). Anyway, it's a great place to meet-n-greet, see some of the latest and greatest whatever from your favorite manufacturers, even learn a thing or two by attending the numerous sessions they have.
Last year Gary Katz had exhibition-floor sessions on installing trim, Michael Byrne put on tiling and in-floor heating demonstrations and a friend of Gary Katz's, whose name I do not recall showed how to design and install stairs. There were MANY other demonstrations as well.
The dates for New England are March 18-21, which includes the billable sessions. The exhibition floor dates are March 20-21. If you are in the area, or near the area as I am (I live in South Jersey), you really should mark your calendars. It would be well worth your time; you may learn something. Hey, you may even win something!
Maybe I'll seeya there.
