Joined guide rails and the router guide stop with fine adjuster

I found yesterday when I spent some quality Festool time that I had an issue using the guide rails routing. The guide stop (487 010) works damn cool with the guide rails but it catches on the green inserts if you have 2 rails joined. I believe it's because there is no chamfer on the bottom to help it slide past. I'm wondering what others have done to resolve this.

Also, my guide stop did not come with "instructions". Can someone tell me what the point of the 2 interchangeable heights is? By that I mean when you flip the part around that rides on the guide you get a second choice of relative height. Only 1 appears appropriate for the guide rail.

I don't have mine in front of me, but is that height difference to use the guide on the back side of the rail?

      Perhaps you could file a slight chamfer at the connection points.  The ultimate best solution is longer rails.

The connection points are not where the problem is. It's where the green plastic strips start and end. So if you were going to chamfer something it would be the bottom of the router guide. I guess really what I'm saying is that Festool should have done the chamfering in manufacturing. I have not looked closely to see if there is enough material there to chamfer since the bottom is mostly hollow.
