Joining 36mm hose segments

Had a need to mate up a 36mm hose on my boom arm to the the 36mm hose in my Workshop Cleaning Set, and didn't have a good means for doing so.  So I grabbed a 1-1/4" flex coupling from my plumbing supplies and removed the band clamps and label.  The coupling fit snugly inside the 50mm connector on the extension hose, and the 36mm end fit snugly inside the coupling.  Problem solved!  Yes, it WILL pop apart if I tug on it too hard, but I can always use the band clamps to tighten it up.  I prefer to not have the band clamps ding anything, though.  Good luck.  YMMV.
