I posted this over at our previous home, so some of you may have seen this, but I thought I'd contribute here at our new place.

As a side note, Matt...I am so happy about the move to a better format.  I didn't frequent the old home very much simply becuase I can't stand the yahoo format...I'll be here daily.

Back to the MFT...I built this just about a year ago, still lovin it, best shop addition that I've ever put together.

I'm in the exact same boat. I hated that format over there and rarely posted anything. Now that the FOG has moved, I'll be a regular contributor. This place is soooo much better than the Yahoo board.

BTW- That's an awesome MFT setup you have.

Brian, did you start out with a standard MFT and then move to this Jumbo version?  I am contemplating doing something very similar and am not sure if I should get a MFT and cannibalize it to build a larger version or just go the route of getting just the pieces I need.

No, I never owned one.

You can take the parts off a stock MFT and make one, but the rails would never fit the dimensions of my big one.

I bought a replacement perforated top to act as a template for my holes, and then purchased the rails.

Beautiful work!

I checked the old site once and never went back. Now that I'm going to finally purchase a Festool or two or three..... I'm glad we have this new formated site.

Great work again Brian.

very impressive! are the rails festool specific or just stock extrusions?

I bought them from Festool.  Thanks for the comments.

Nicely done Brian, nice, big and functional.  Though I don't envy you when you need to move that sucker

Well, it's mobile...I put it on casters.  I moves pretty smoothly.
