here are the pictures of the before and after.. I replaced the nailed together built in, the mantel and the wall paneling.
all done with maple and some birch. the mantel top is 1 3/4" thick african iroko and had the bark on the front edge. I then used my ras 115 and my 850 planer with the undulating blade to mess it up and sand it down to give it the honed look then put clear varnish on it.
then made the legs etc
and the last picture is putting all the tools away.!
i got this job wearing one of my Kregs custom carpentry shirts and was at the grocery store on a sunday and the lady say me and said you are just what I am looking for !
