Found a lightly used Kapex for $900.  I recently purchased a Dewalt miter saw and probably don't need to replace it but is $900 to good of a deal to pass up?

It's 2/3rds the price of a new one, if lightly used and in good condition it would be worth it if you need/want one.

I would get the serial number and check its provenance out first though.

I agree it may be a good deal, BUT you have a nice new saw that does cross cutting the Kapex isn't going to do anything that DeWalt can't.

If you didn't have a new saw I would say jump on it. Or if you had needs to where more than one saw could be put to use I might get it. But one person with a new slider already in their arsenal can buy a lot better things with 900.00 than a second miter saw.

For ME personally a new Kapex isn't worth 900.00 let alone the retail.

What DeWalt do you have? That makes all the difference in the world in how this question could be answered.

Thanks - i think i'll wait for now.  Honestly the two hour drive is what's holding me back.

To bad all impulse purchases aren't two hours away.  :)

If the saw was pristine it could be a really nice deal, but I see these saws go for 1200.000 even when they are a year or more old so I am wondering how good of shape its in.

I'm always nervous about buying second hand. Unless the saving is HUGE, I really won't consider it. Saving a few hundred dollars on an expensive tool and potentially getting a lemon isn't a good gamble in my books.
